Essay on Secret of Success in English for Student

Beaconsfield, learnt the art of speaking and shed his initial hesitation It is a common saying that “Nothing succeeds like success.” Hitler is sometimes quoted to have said, “Success is the sole earthly judge of right and wrong.”

Whatever may be said about success but the fact remains that nothing can be achieved without hard work. Hard work is the key to success Sometimes, desired results may not be available even through hard work. This may happen for quite some time. Buta persevering person is sure to achieve success in the long run.

Success demands a long story of meticulous planning behind every effort. An unplanned effort in any direction may not enable a person to reach the goal. A ship without a rudder is liable to go astray or be swept away by violent sea storms. The same thing can happen in human life also.

Success demands discipline at every step in life. One must be regular and punctual. A student who does not take regular morning walk or exercise and a balanced diet, cannot maintain good health. If he does not go to school at the right time and attend every period and remain attentive in the class and do his homework regularly, he cannot show good results.

It is said about Benjamin Disraeli, one of the most renowned Prime Ministers of England that when he started to speak the first time in the British Parliament when he became an M. P., he was so much confused and had such a horrible stage fear that he could not utter a single word. He left ashamed and sat down.

Later, the same Disraeli, who later became the Earl of by standing before the mirror and speaking loudly for an hour or so.Thus, he simulated to be speaking in the Parliament. In course of time, he began to be hailed as one of the greatest orators of the world It is said about Mahatma Gandhi that he was a very shy man by nature. He could not speak a single word when he appeared before a judge in a court for the first time as a lawyer. He must have felt awfully small at that time. Later, as we know, Gandhiji became one of the greatest men in history and appeared umpteen times before judges of different courts in connection with not only his legal practice but also the Independence movement.

Mahatma Gandhi’s case is an eye-opener in another way also He has demonstrated beyond an iota of doubt that even the greatest empires in the world can be shaken to the roots just through peaceful, passive and non-violent means on the basis of truth and well meaning, hard, self sacrificial struggle.

Once Napoleon was told that the Alps awfully came in his way in connection with one of his campaigns. Napoleon politely brushed aside the idea, saying, “There will be no Alps.”

We can achieve success only if we are as conscious of our duties as our rights. What Haratio Nelson, the famous British general said at the Battle of Trafalgar is a common knowledge, “England expects every man to do his duty”, and “Thank God, I have done my duty.” Thus, it is not difficult for us to understand that luck is not as important as it is made out. Dame luck is important in life, no doubt, but hard work and other virtues are no less important. If a person wants to be a doctor or an engineer or some artist, teacher, or technocrat or even a mechanic, he must first of all acquire the necessary qualifications. This can be done only by studying in a recognized institute and not only by passing the examination or getting the diploma or degree with low or just qualifying marks but by getting fairly high marks.

Most of the courses now require the mandatory passing with fairly high marks in entrance test as getting through a board or university examination is not considered enough. Even after completing a course, one may be required to sit in a competitive course and come off with flying colours.

All this requires very hard persistent labour from the beginning. One who wants to reach a particular destination, must start quite early. We can ponder over these points and think of many others which can lead us to success. That is only if we have a strong will and mind.

ere is an extract from the self-story of a successful man (now Managing Director of a famous company concerned with plastic industry) as it appeared in an important daily: “From the very first day, I decided that I will be honest in my dealings. Never have I till date made an attempt to make a fast buck by dubious means. It is perhaps this reason that my product is made from one of the purest forms of plastic. Besides we adhere strictly to the norms prescribed by the Supreme Court with regard to manufacturing of polybags.”

The two most important points revealed in this self-story are that-

1. One must be honest to the core.
2. One must abide by all laws concerned.
It is stupid to try to make fast buck by violating laws. Laws are made for the good of all of us and if we abide by them, the good will flow to us automatically in course of time.
